**Terracycle** were probably the first in 2001 who have taken up the topic of waste as a resource and consistently pursued it.
Now they have over 300 employees in 20 countries worldwide and offer an interesting service where consumers can purchase recycling boxes that are sent to Terracycle when full.
Terracycle then knows immediately what they will receive and has, of course, already checked in advance how you can recycle these materials. With this system, Terracycle now also supports beach cleanups.
Basically Terracycle doesn’t really fit into the published scheme, because it seems that their suppliers don’t get anything for their goods (the waste) but have to pay for the recycling boxes first.
Instead, Terracycle has now founded [Loop](https://loopstore.com), a company where it is possible to cooperate with manufacturers who agree to send their goods in recyclable containers via Loop to the suppliers.
